‘Big Sky’ episode 1X13 ‘White Lion,’ ended with a bang. Jenny was in the middle of a secret meeting with Sheriff Wagy’s secretary Angela when a truck came barreling through. Now let’s get into ‘Big Sky’ episode 1X14 “Nice Animals.”
Another One Bites The Dust

So, in ‘Big Sky‘ episode 1X14 “Nice Animals,” Jenny has emerged from the rubble after the truck has barreled through he hotel. Unfortunately and not surprising, Angela was killed and guess who was driving the truck? yup, you got it. Rand Kleinsasser. Sheriff Wagy is on the scene and stunned to see that Jenny is alive which makes me wonder how much he knew about the Kleinsasser’s wanting both Jenny and Cassie out of Lochsa county.
The Sheriff pays Horst a visit and lets him know that he knows Rand is responsible for the truck going through the hotel and killing Angela. Horst as always, does the thing he does and makes up some bullshit story that Rand was on the ranch so he could not have been involved. Of course Sheriff Wagy knows better and he lets Horst know that Jenny is alive and knows it was Rand.
Let’s Go Camping

Ronald shows up in the middle of the night with a big rig and tells Scarlet he wants to take her and Phoebe on a camping trip. First of all, a big rig is not a surprise, second, Scarlet isn’t suspicious of Ronald wanting to take a random camping trip late at night?. Once Ronald, Scarlet, and Phoebe arrive to, wherever the hell they are, he has to try and get Scarlets sister Mary buried. Yeah, Ronald brought the body of Scarlet’s sister with him.
He comes close to her finding the body when a trail of blood starts pooling out onto the truck floor. Ronald tricks Scarlet into taking Phoebe to explore while he “sets everything up” AKA, cleans up his mess. Ronald is a messy murderer so he yet again leaves a trail behind when Phoebe notices a bloody leaf on the ground. She and Scarlet are searching for Ronald who has been dragging Mary’s body to bury it. He has to move it out of view which if you ask me, should not be so easy to hide in an open space like the one they are currently in.
Ronald uses his distraction technique and gives Phoebe a weird lesson about nice animals and bad animals eating each other and that’s likely where the blood came from. Scarlet is disturbed and rightly so because who tells a ten year old girl a story like that in the middle of nowhere on their first camping trip?
Mother Knows All

One thing Big Sky lets us know is that the Kleinsasser women are not to be underestimated. Cheyenne knows everything; Rand killed Cole Danvers, John Wayne killed Blake, and now she knows that Rand killed Angela. She’s using it to her advantage and I can’t say I blame her because her brothers are dicks.
Cheyenne takes the information she knows and wields it when she needs to in order to remind Rand and John Wayne that she is not to be fucked with, point blank, period. Oh, I forgot to mention, she did a pop up on Sheriff Wagy to let him know she knows what’s going on.
As the Kleinsassers prepare to bury Blake, Cheyenne’s mom Margaret questions her about whether she knows what happened to him. She has a feeling that everyone around her knows and she can’t take being lied to. Cheyenne gives in and tells her that John Wayne killed Blake. Margaret is stunned no doubt and it gives her even more motivation to stop taking shit from Horst. Now that she’s got this information, she’s got some control back.
Margaret doesn’t let Horst know that she knows what happened to Blake but, in one of their awkward conversations where he compares her to a cow, she tells him that she’s going to kill him. He is totally unfazed by this and says he would expect nothing less. See? weird. During the funeral, mama doesn’t hold back on letting John Wayne that she knows he killed Blake and she delivers a death grip of a hug to him. Seriously, I thought she was going to choke John Wayne out at the funeral in front of everyone.
Living Foul

Jenny and Cassie are still trying to figure out what the Kleinsassers are hiding. Jenny heads over to see Cole Danvers’ mother Nora. When she shows up, Nora is less than thrilled to have any type of conversations about them because she knows they are responsible for Coles disappearance. When Jenny tells her she believes and that Blake is dead, Nora gives her some information about why she thinks Cole disappeared which leads Jenny back to Gil the Ranch hand who works for the Kleinsassers.
When Jenny and Cassie show up at Gils, Rosie convinces him to tell the truth which he does. Jenny and Cassie want to know what’s happening on the Kleinsasser’s property and it’s pretty gross. On the Kleinsassers back pasture, they are allowing waste to be dumped near the water. So gross right? but apparently the Kleinsasser’s don’t care what they need to do to get money as long as they protect their precious land which ummmm… they’re contaminating?
Gil helps Cassie and Jenny sneak onto the property to get pictures and soil samples. Unbeknownst to them, Sheriff Wagy happens to be riding by because of course he is. Being the snitch he is, he promptly calls up Horst to do whatever he is going to do which we will have to wait until next week to find out.
Surprise?

Ronald has finally gotten a moment to sneak off and finish burying Mary’s body. As he’s preparing to put Mary’s body in the hole, Scarlets daughter Phoebe shows up and asks what he’s doing. I am really hoping Ronald is not going to kill Phoebe because that would be terrible. I also have no idea what kind of excuse he’s going to come up with to explain what he’s doing. It will be creative no doubt.
Other Thoughts

- Ronald being pleased that the location he took Scarlet and Phoebe to, has no cell service.
- I say again, the Kleinsasser’s are dysfunctional as fuck.
- I knew the body in the freezer at Mary’s house was Scarlets old boyfriend Steve.
- Jerrie and Lindor eating girl scout cookies and having a conversation about trefoils versus samoas as they look at Steve’s dead body…
- “I’ve already seen the worst in people.”
- I love Jerrie not giving up on bringing Ronald down.
- Jerrie and US Marshall Lindor are a nice little duo.
- God bless Scarlet’s neighbor spilling all the T about “Arthur” (Ronald) to Jerrie and Lindor.
