You know how you look at a cast and you’re like damn, I will watch that. For Hot Pink, the new show coming from Amazon, they had us at Sarah Michele Gellar returning to a TV show. But as if that wasn’t good enough, Amazon decided to up the game.
Nina Bloomgarden, David Iacono, Mimi Davila, Dana Donnelly and Myra Molloy are all set to star opposite Sarah Michele Gellar in the show.
We don’t know anything about the characters that they will be playing, as Amazon is keeping those details under wraps.
The show was loosely inspired by Elana K. Arnold’s National Book Award finalist What Girls Are Made Of.
The book was published in 2017 and tells the story of “the real, knotted, messy, thriving heartbeat of young womanhood.” The story is told through the eyes of a 16 year old girl.
With Gellar signed on the YA project was immediately green lit for a pilot. If the show gets picked up for series, it would definitely expand upon Amazon’s growing list of YA on their slate. They have The Wilds, which is currently filming its second season, and the upcoming Panic. What do you think? Are you excited for Hot Pink?
