For the last two seasons, we’ve really fallen hard for All Rise. We love all the characters, the stories, and the diverse cast. We were hoping that CBS would give the show a third season, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. But we want to give one last tribute to All Rise and why we’ll miss it next year.

The number one thing we’ll miss about All Rise? The characters of course! We’ve loved getting to know Lola Carmichael and seeing her work as a judge. One of our favorite things about her is that she’s not perfect. She struggles with cases and rulings, and she knows that sometimes cases, and people, aren’t black and white. There’s a grey area. And just because someone does the wrong thing doesn’t mean they are a bad person.
We also are going to miss Lola and Mark’s friendship. When’s the last time a show had a male/female friendship that didn’t end with fans shipping it? Listen, we love romance just as much as the next person, but it is possible for a man and a woman to just be friends. Mark and Lola love each other (in a platonic way) and always try to give advice to one another. They also call each other out. And, we think it’s adorable how much Mark loves Lola’s daughter. We can’t believe we’re not going to have more moments between these two.

The other relationship we’re going to miss is Emily and Luke. These two were so sweet in the first season, and we couldn’t help but root for them. It was obvious these two needed to be together. The last episode gave us a somewhat happy ending with Luke running to the airport to tell her he loved her. She loved him, too, but she needed to go on a journey by herself. We believe that off screen, Emily came home and she and Luke ended happily ever after, but it would have been nice to see that play out on screen. That hurts, CBS, that hurts.

We’re going to miss the friendships between the women on the show, too. Lola and Sherri and Emily and Sara especially. It was so nice and refreshing to see women supporting women on television! We’re also sad we’re not going to see the development between Samantha and Ness. This relationship was just starting!
There are so many other things we’re going to miss. Too many to put in one article. We’re sad we’re not going to see Mark and Amy’s wedding. We’re disappointed we won’t see Ness working at Amy and Rachel’s kick-ass law firm and Luke working as a public defender. And we’ll miss seeing Lola doing what she does best: being a judge.
While we’re still mad at CBS, we’re happy we did have two seasons of All Rise. We hope we see some of these actors again soon, and we won’t forget this amazing show.
