ATX TV Festival is giving us great things these days and one of the best things is Fiona Dawson (she/her) and her show NOW With Fiona. She’s the creator and executive producer of NOW With Fiona and we had the pleasure of talking to her about this series that shows us the best stories within the LGBTQ+ community and gives visibility to the Community in a positive, hopeful way, in which everyone is represented. Ready?
Here we go!
As you can see, Fiona (she/her) is the sweetest and kindest person I have had the pleasure to talk to. She told us about the way in which NOW With Fiona was created and how she wanted to focus on positive stories, of overcoming, so that those boys and girls who see the show can see that there is a future, that there is hope and they can accept themselves with a smile.
Fiona (she/her) also told us about her new book -which we are looking forward to reading- and in which they include the different stories that make up the LGBTQ+ Community and her commitment that these stories, these points of view, are accurate. In this way, if she has not experienced that life experience first-hand, she looks for the person who did it so that their voices are heard.
Also, Fiona (she/her) told us her opinion on the way in which we can be good allies of the collective. It isn’t enough to share different posts and ideas on social media. We need commitment, we need to get involved, we need to listen and learn. We need not to raise our voices but to fight side by side so that the voices of everyone in the LGBTQ+ Community can be heard.

Fiona (she/her) is … she’s just a ray of sunshine, she smiles at life, at the positive and her smile is contagious, she makes you smile and laugh. And what surprised me the most about her was her vision of her world, of the LGBTQ+ Community. She is a young woman who is full of creativity, good ideas but has a clear mind. She knows what she wants and goes for it.
NOW With Fiona is the work of a lifetime and, as a member of the LGBTQ+ Community, it has a special place in her heart and I loved the commitment she has to her project, and the way in which she is clear that if she didn’t live a story firsthand, she can’t tell that story. The way Fiona (she/her) gives voice and includes everyone.
It was an inspiring interview, the kind that you could spend hours listening to and talking to that person, the kind where you feel like you’re having coffee with an old friend. I learned so much from her vision, from the LGBTQ+ Community and how to commit myself as an ally.
I really admire Fiona (she/her), her determination, her struggle, her commitment, her life project and I can’t wait to follow her in all the projects that await her, to hear the voices that everyone makes invisible and that Fiona (she/her) helps us to listen and learn from them.
