Disney+ Day was full of announcements! From new footage to new titles, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Fans of Marvel’s resident archers are thrilled with the day’s festivities since Marvel Studios dropped a brand-new look at the upcoming series Hawkeye.
Hawkeye is the next property in Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 rollout, and this clip has us counting down the days until November 24. Hailee Steinfeld embodies Kate Bishop so well that we’re confident she’ll become plenty of MCU fans’ favorite hero.
As a reminder, the show follows Clint as he “reluctantly teams up with Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old skilled archer, and his biggest fan, to unravel a criminal conspiracy.” The series is “set in post-blip New York City,” and Clint’s only goal is to spend Christmas with his family.
The new footage for the show is a part of a Disney+ Marvel Special that you can only see by going to the Marvel section on the streaming service’s app.
But, trust us; you’ll want to see the epic new header for the page as well. It features some of the fan-favorite heroes of recent years.
It’s cool to see how the special weaves together WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…? to lead into Hawkeye.
Anyone who has been waiting for Kate Bishop’s introduction to the MCU leans forward when she’s revealed, as the Watcher says, “One moment can ripple across space and time giving birth to new heroes.” How epic!
Kate Bishop is a part of a new generation of MCU superheroes. The Disney+ series have nearly assembled all of the Young Avengers. Kate was a major missing player until now.
Plus, we know that Florence Pugh‘s Yelena Belova will appear on Hawkeye to avenge Natasha after Black Widow.
Some of the footage that follows is straight from the trailers and TV Spots. Still, a lot of it is new. There are new glimpses at this holiday adventure through new action sequences and dialogue that lets us get to know Kate Bishop.
The lead-up to the car chase proves Clint and Kate’s banter is already a bullseye. The clip becomes even more impressive when the realization strikes that the car chase is a one-shot sequence.
This sequence should be serious, but Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld‘s mentor and student chemistry turns it into something better. The Christmas music and Clint and Kate’s back-and-forth add so much humor and levity to the scene. It’s simply the best!
Clint’s dry wit and Kate’s “I was born careful.” line are ripped right from the source material. Hawkeye takes a lot of inspiration from Matt Fraction and David Aja’s Hawkeye. If you’re looking for essential reading before the show drops, this is it.
The Disney+ Day Special goes on to reveal an even closer look at Hawkeye. There are glimpses at major players like Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Fra Fee, and Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, who is also getting her own show.
Oh, Lucky the Pizza Dog makes an appearance, too! This show already knows its audience well enough not to deprive us of Lucky content. What’s not to love about Hawkeye?
Hawkeye‘s two-episode premiere debuts on Disney+ on Wednesday, November 24!
