In an effort to build a space for queer people like myself, every Tuesday I’ll be posting interviews, opinion pieces, listicles, reviews, and more focused on the LGBT community (and occasionally about the Latinx community since I am Latinx.) Welcome to Queerly Not Straight! Enjoy and leave a comment below if you have a suggestion for what I should cover next.
Webtoons are another avenue for you to find LGBTQ content to consume. From romance to sci-fi and slice of life, there’s a little bit of something for everyone from some of the most creative minds out there.
And since we loved doing our first list of LGBTQ+ webtoons you should check out, we wanted to make another list to supply you with even more content! So check out our list of 7 more LGBTQ+ webtoons you should be reading in 2021!
And when you’re done make sure to tell your friends and show the authors some love. You never know what could happen if the attention they get is far and wide….maybe enough to get them a Netflix deal or something that could change this creator’s life!
Enjoy!
1. Tea for Two by Tanya Tinks (Romance, Fantasy)
Synopsis: Two boys. One mage, one human. Both terrible at romance. Thrown together by clumsy circumstance, Oscar and Ezra are suddenly workmates at Fawkes’ Flowers; the magical florist and tea emporium! So come on, take a seat, have some tea, we have a wide selection.
Why You Should Read: There’s nothing better than watching different kinds of people coming together and working to find a connection; while being terrible at it, of course. That’s what you get with Tea for Two.
Read it here on Webtoon.

2. Love, Lila by Yrezu (Drama, Romance)
Synopsis: A one-sided love & rivalry between an aspiring ballerina and an artist. Irene comes from a strict and close-minded household which is against her pursuing a career in arts, as a result of her upbringing she became cold, insecure, and distrustful. Then she met Lila, a perfect girl who has everything and is everything Irene wishes to become. But as she gets to know Lila better, she discovers that her privileged upbringing actually hides a traumatic family secret.
Why You Should Read: We’re an absolutely sucker for a story like Love, Lila because of the opposing forces of love and rivalry. Those always make way for interesting stories that keep you reading more because you want to see the character’s journey and where they go.

3. Papa Ai by Eyekno and EAB (Comedy, Slice of life)
Synopsis: Two imperfect Papa’s, with imperfect children, who just might be…perfect for each other.
Why You Should Read: The cover alone should make you want to read this LGBTQ+ webtoon. Two dads with children that look like the complete opposite and with parents that look like they follow the trope as well. Yes, please on grump and sunshine goodness.
Read it here on Webtoon.

4. Amongst Us by Shilin (Slice of life, Comedy)
Synopsis: The stoic cellist, and the brazen conductor she fell for. Together, they navigate the slight dumpster fires that they somehow create out of their daily lives.
Why You Should Read: Like the previous LGBTQ+ webtoon, this has what looks like opposing personalities that just click. The only difference is that this slice of life seems them navigating their daily lives while taking on dumpster fires. Read to see if actual ones!
Also, look at that hair!

5. Abyss Reflections by ZC_Coffee (Action, Supernatural)
Synopsis: BL story about a prince and his knight. Mix of dark fantasy and coffee shop settings (yeah, it sounds crazy, but we have lot of fun with this idea)
Why You Should Read: They managed to combine plenty of tropey goodness’ in one. What more do you need in life? Plus, did they say coffee shop settings? It’s like they looked into our brain and went, “Ohhhhh, this is what she wants. Let’s do it!”
Read it here on Webtoon.

6. Sesame But Different (Slice of life, Romance)
Synopsis: Chia and Poppy are two girls named after seeds who also happen to be dating each other. They are same-same (or sesame), but different.
Why You Should Read: This really is the epitome of a slice of life with funny and ridiculous situations that deliver a pick-me-up worth reading.
Read it here on Webtoon.

7. Not Another Fairytale Story by Azrael Santi (Fantasy, Romance)
Synopsis: Mermaid prince sets out to the land to pursue his beloved. But will their love story turn out like the usual fairytales?
Why You Should Read: It’s giving me LGBTQ+ The Little Mermaid vibes with hot guys. Look, do we need to say more?
Read it here on Webtoon.
