We almost end! Alex Rider 2×07 “Assassin” is the episode where things start to go very bad for Damien but Alex, Tom, and Kyra too. They’re all in danger and it’s not clear who will survive. Time for a review!
Here we go!
I loved Alex Rider 2×07 “Assassin.” I just loved this episode. Much of it is just what we already saw and we can only say that the way they showed the action and the tension were brilliant. They kept us glued to our couch the entire time without being able to decide who was winning the game, Alex or Damien.
And we also really liked seeing how things start to go wrong for Damien, you feel his despair, his anger, his desire to kill Alex, and whoever is helping him. And we were delighted to see him like this. Damien is desperate…but that means that he becomes more dangerous. Until now, Damien has been hiding before everyone but now he has removed his mask and there are no limits.
That’s why Damien kidnaps Sabina, to leave Alex with no way out. And he makes us wonder, What is it that Alex took away that is so important? We can’t wait to see what happens!
That said, another part of Alex Rider 2×07 “Assassin” is much more emotional. Jack is comfortable in her work, she likes it because she feels that she’s making a difference, but when Tom asks her for help, she doesn’t hesitate to risk her work to help him, Alex and Kyra, because the family always comes first, no matter what. Jack had to make a decision here and she made the only one she could make, Jack didn’t even hesitate because when her family is at risk, she had nothing to think about.
And we’re very proud of her, not only because of the decision she made but because, before she left, she made many things clear to all those involved. As a counterpart, we were very disappointed in Jack’s partner. We thought that thing could get anywhere but when he got the chance to choose her over his ambition, he chose his ambition, so this guy doesn’t deserve Jack and we’re glad she let him know. We wanted to hug her very tight after this.
Another person we wanted to hug tight in Alex Rider 2×07 “Assassin” is Kyra. She had never had friends, she had always been alone and had to learn to save and protect herself, that’s why when Tom saves her just for the sake of it, not wanting anything in return, Kyra is shocked. It’s the first time that someone has selflessly protected her. It’s the first time that someone cares about her.
Kyra is struggling with that and also with the fact that it’s Tom who saved her, the same person who makes it clear to her that she didn’t fit into Alex’s life. But now, he’s protecting her, despite everything. Kyra is starting to get used to having friends, it feels good.
That’s the reason why Kyra, despite distrusting Mrs. Jones, decides to trust Alex and Tom and go with her. Kyra had never trusted anyone before because no one had earned that trust, but Tom and Alex have saved her life more than once and earned her trust in them, so for the first time, Kyra trusts with eyes closed in them. In her friends.
As a last note, it’s clear that Damien called Gregorovich to kidnap Sabina but he will never hurt Alex…and there is someone else who knows that. Who? The answer is close…
