Christmas came early this year. Voltage pictures dropped a little surprise on us and we may or may not be freaking out. The teaser trailer for After Ever Happy the fourth installment in the After movie franchise was just released. The film based on the popular After book series from Anna Todd is the final, yes, we said final one and we’re feeling all the feels about that. We were not expecting the teaser to drop this soon but we have no complaints.

OMG how are you feeling after that because we know over here, we are not okay. That was just 36 seconds and we’re already feeling destroyed. How much more when we get the film next year? There was so much Hessa and so much pain and anguish. I mean, for goodness’ sake, if you read the books like we did, then you know we are going to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster with this last film. We are nowhere near as ready as we think we are.
Here’s a synopsis of the film:
“Hessa” have defied all the odds, but will their fairy tale ending be turned on its head? Though it has never been all rainbows and sunshine, each new challenge they’ve faced has only made their passionate bond stronger. When a revelation about the past shakes Hardin’s impenetrable facade to the core, will they stick together again or be torn apart? As the shocking truth about each of their families emerge, it’s clear the two lovers are not so different after all. Tessa is no longer the sweet, simple, good girl she was when she met Hardin. Tessa understands all the troubling emotions brewing beneath Hardin’s exterior, and she knows she’s the only one who can calm him when he erupts. He needs her. However, the more layers of his past that come to light, the darker he grows, and the harder he pushes Tessa—and everyone else in his life—away. Tessa’s not sure if she can really save him without sacrificing herself. She refuses to go down without a fight but who is she really fighting for? Hardin or herself?
In addition to getting the teaser trailer for After Ever Happy, we also got the US release date and a few international ones as well. We wish the film was coming sooner than late fall but, it will give us some time to do a re-read beforehand and of course we can always re-watch all three films to hold us over.
After Ever Happy is directed by Castille Landon, and stars of course Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin as our Tessa and Hardin.
After Ever Happy hits theaters on September 7, 2022. The third installment After We Fell is currently available on digital platforms now.
