Announcing that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling staring in Barbie was good. When they announced the casting of America Ferrera it became really good. And we admit, we thought it couldn’t get much better.
But then Barbie was like hold my dream house bitch, you ain’t prepared.
The movie has added Simu Liu. And like America’s character details are being kept under wraps about his character. Hell, the only thing that we really know is that Robbie will be playing Barbie and Gosling will be playing Ken.
That doesn’t diminish our excitement though.
Barbie has been in the works for quite sometime, with Robbie starring as the Mattel doll and Greta Gerwig directing. Greta Gerwig is directing from a script that she co-wrote with her husband Noah Baumbach.
Barbie is set to start production in early this year in London, with a planned 2023 theatrical release.
We can’t wait!
