It’s kind of a funny thing, how we remember people. A lot of people that we know think of Mandy Moore and automatically associate her with This Is Us. We think of her and the first thing that comes to mind is her iconic song Candy or her role in A Walk To Remember.
Music is such a big part of Mandy‘s identity that it shouldn’t be a shocker that it is the first thing that comes to mind. We’ve always loved her music.
She recently released a new music video for her song In Real Life and it includes a lot of famous friends.
The video also features cameos by This Is Us co-stars Chrissy Metz, Susan Kelechi Watson, Sterling K. Brown, Chris Sullivan, Justin Hartley, and Jon Huertas, which hey, would be enough for us to be applauding. But along with her co-stars are such famous friends Hilary Duff, Wilmer Valderrama, Tess Holliday, and Skylar Astin.
With This Is Us coming to an end, Mandy also announced that she would be heading out on tour in 2022 and releasing a full length record on May 13th.
“So much of this record came from future-tripping on the next chapter of my life and what it might look like: what parenthood would feel like, how it would change everything, and all the excitement and trepidation that comes with that,” Mandy said. “At the same time it was about celebrating and acknowledging where we were at the moment and really trying to be completely present in the everyday—which is maybe the hardest part of the human condition.”
Her statement continued, “To me it’s all about staying open, staying aware, staying sensitive and empathetic to the people around me. There’s something about expressing myself through lyrics and melody that makes me feel whole, and I see it as a privilege to have that outlet. And even though this album is very specific to me and my experience—there’s songs about my baby, my husband, my father, my friends—I hope everyone’s able to see their own lives in it. I hope they’re able to come along on the journey with me, and put themselves in the driver’s seat.”
