Chicago P.D. 9×17 “Adrift” is an emotional, Adam-centric hour. We’ve already discussed what’s coming in our advance review, but now we have the pictures for the hour. And though we know typically pictures give us little, it’s always hilarious when we can see them after the episode and sort of examine how the pictures chosen tend to reflect the things the show feels okay with spoiling.
But hey, Hailey in red is always a good thing to get a picture of. And we’ve never said no to multiple Kevin Atwater pictures. But we could have done with one or two extra Adam ones, we’re not gonna lie. Or a Burzek one.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a very difficult episode for Adam. In the promo for this episode, it appears that he is forced to take drugs to protect his cover and save a woman’s life. The synopsis for the next episode says in part “Halstead breaks in a new recruit…” Now I don’t think Adam will be fired or forced out of Intelligence, but mandatory time off or a short suspension for violating protocol is possible. We all know Adam does not do well with idle time. There is also going to be a difficult conversation with Kim coming. Hopefully she will be as supportive of him as Adam was of her if there is fall out from the drug use.
