The release of Uncharted was the start of a wildly successful film franchise adapting popular video games into live action. The film earned close to $402 million worldwide. With tremendous success as a precedent, it is not surprising that another adaptation of a popular video game is going to take place.
According to Deadline, Days Gone will be the next big screen adaptation. According to the game’s description, Days Gone is set in the Pacific Northwest after a devastating global pandemic. The game follows former motorcycle club member Deacon St. John as he struggles to survive against the forces of despair and mutated humans and predators on his quest to find the lost and presumed dead love of his life.
Sheldon Turner will be in charge of the adaptation and his script will be a love ballad for motorcycle movies. Sam Heughan will play Deacon, the leader of this story. Now, does Days Gone mean there won’t be an Outlander season 8? We’ll have to wait for the answer, but in principle, Sam Heughan could film his participation in Days Gone in Outlander‘s filming breaks.
