According to Deadline, rising stars Amanda Fix and Avan Jogia will lead alongside Krysten Ritter in Orphan Black: Echoes, the upcoming spin-off series set in the world of Orphan Black, set to premiere on AMC+ next year.
At the moment, we don’t know much about Orphan Black: Echoes but the first reports mention that it will consist of 10 episodes and takes place shortly, exploring the scientific manipulation of human existence. Follow a group of women, two of them played by Ritter and Fix, as they make their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unraveling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a harrowing story of love and betrayal.
Yes, this synopsis reminds us too much of the original show, so we just have to wait and see what’s new in this series.
Fix will play Jules, a teenager trying to find herself. The newly adopted daughter of wealthy parents, Jules is tough and reckless but brutally smart.
Jogia will play Lucy’s (Ritter) boyfriend, Jack, a soft-spoken ex-army medic and single father. He has dedicated his life to raising his daughter and discovers that the woman he loves has an unimaginable secret.
Anna Fishko is the creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer of Orphan Black: Echoes with John Fawcett, the co-creator of the original series, serving as director and executive producer. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, executive producers of Boat Rocker on the original Orphan Black, have returned as executive producers.
