The resolution of the first crossover in The Rookie universe is here! The Rookie: Feds 1×04 “To Die For” is the episode where Simone is always right and the babies do well to pay attention to her while they catch a disturbing serial killer. Ready?
Here we go!
Scars That Won’t Go Away
Carter heeds Simone’s advice in The Rookie: Feds 1×04 “To Die For” and leans on Garza when the divorce issue gets the better of him. Garza is the only one who understands what he is going through. At this moment, Carter feels lost, not quite sure how to go about building his life from the ruins of the old one.
His ex-wife and he had been together as an inseparable unit for a lifetime. And Carter is in that phase of still not being able to believe that everything fell apart and feeling ashamed of failure at the same time — even though he has nothing to be ashamed of.
For him now it’s about learning to be alone and remember the good times, as well as learning from mistakes. It’s like starting from scratch. And it’s not easy. Carter just wants everything to happen but he has to give time to time.
Carter must go through the duel and start from there, day by day. It’s always difficult and there is a pain that will never go away, a scar that will never fully heal but enough to move on.
Keep Going in The Rookie: Feds 1×04 “To Die For”
Simone and Laura are the MVPs of The Rookie: Feds 1×04 “To Die For!” I love them together and I love this friendship. Too many shows portray women as rivals, either professionally or romantically. So we’re happy to see that Chicago Fire isn’t the only series that takes friendship between women seriously. We hope that this is not just a one-time thing.
Simone will always help others, it’s just who she is. So when she sees the spark between Laura and her honorary partner, she tries to help her. Laura deserves it. It’s time for her to stop crying over a man who never deserved her. But Laura is so afraid to take a chance… the last time she did it, her heart was broken and she lost herself in the middle of it all.
Fight to Feel Alive
However, Simone gives Laura the push she needs in The Rookie: Feds 1×04 “To Die For.” Who doesn’t risk, doesn’t win. It’s time to stop denying that there is something between Mr. I’m too arrogant for my own good and her.
It’s time to stop hiding and get away from everyone, desperate to avoid being hurt again. It’s time for Laura to lower her walls and allow herself to feel alive again.
But it’s just a one-time thing. And Simone wants to make sure it’s not just because Laura is too scared. In part, at first, it was. Laura takes the safer option and goes back to protecting herself behind the emotional walls she built.
After chatting with Simone again, she makes the best decision for her emotionally speaking. It’s no longer about hiding behind her walls, but about realizing what she really needs at this time in her life. And Laura needs to be alone. Her previous relationship not only tore her apart emotionally but also made her lose herself.
Changes and Reflections
The Rookie: Feds 1×04 “To Die For” is a moment of change for Laura. It’s a time when she is learning to rediscover herself and to know who she is after everything that happened. A new relationship is not the most convenient right now. But it will be one day when she has managed to heal… and she is not going to close that door anymore. I’m very proud of her.
And yeah, I’m still betting on Laura and Brendon but while that’s happening, I don’t mind at all that Laura has fun (wink, wink).
This friendship is a two-way street. Simone tries to be the same as always and, in part, she succeeds. But there is something that isn’t right with her, something that doesn’t fit. And Laura realizes! Simone is getting affected by the case. She wonders if her job is worth it because when the snake’s head is cut off, a new one always appears.
And yes, that job is like that. But the good moments, the ones that really make a difference, make it worth it for Laura. As for Simone, she must find out if it is the same for her. And Simone knows that it is. There will be terrifying days, physically and emotionally, but there will be other days when nightmares won’t be the only thing she sees.
A Half-Done Crossover
The villain in The Rookie: Feds 1×04 “To Die For” was more interesting to us than Rosalind. However, we were disappointed that they didn’t show how he and Rosalind met and how they started collaborating, or how they planned everything for Rosalind’s farewell. This is a big flaw in this crossover.
They are the ones that connect both series in this crossover. There is already little collaboration between the characters of the two shows, if the connection between the villains, which is the only real point of continuity in the crossover, is not well explained, the crossover deflates. So this one is a half-done crossover. We said what we said.
The Rookie: Feds season 1 airs Tuesdays at 10/9 on ABC.
