Those of us who are fans of French procedurals like this writer, know Marine Delterme as Alice Nevers, so we are delighted that she has leaped to the other side of the pond!
According to Variety, Delterme just teamed up with Robert Downey Jr. for The Sympathizer, a spy series set to air on HBO. Park Chan-Wook will be at the controls behind the camera.
The Sympathizer is the new HBO thriller. The series cross-culture satire about the struggles of Captain, a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War and his resulting exile in the United States.
After leaving Vietnam during the fall of Saigon in 1975, the Captain becomes enmeshed in the Southern California exile community and serves as a cultural adviser to an American film about the war. He’s later recruited to return to Vietnam for a raid on the communists.
