Personally, this writer isn’t the biggest fan of social media. At least not when I see people attacking each other with it and making it their personal mission in life to destroy others.
Or to spread rumors.
Because hey, lets be honest, rumors suck, and it’s rare that anything (if at all) on social media is real. Now, that’s definitely not going to stop people from believing all of the bullshit that is on there and listening to everything that is said.
Sydney Sweeney definitely gets that.
We all know (as does Sydney) that“people don’t have the full story, they see a picture and that is it.”
Even then it doesn’t stop there. People can, “see one quote and not the context behind a conversation that you have with somebody.”
When talking about social media Sydney continued by talking about how she deals with it on the Unwrapped Podcast, “I have to just understand that and I can’t control that, because that would be really, really a lot of work and very difficult.”
We all know how it is, not everyone wants to know the truth or will listen to it and that’s something to keep in mind. We don’t always care about the context – when we should – and that makes people that are the targets of trolls feel like they have to take what is said online.
And that’s sad.
“Nobody actually, I think, even wants to listen to the truth. So you just got to kind of take it,” Sydney said.
And that’s a sad thing that she feels that way.
Social media can and should be used for good. We all need to be better and kinder on it.
