Mean Girls new movie has big news to share with fans! Paramount+ bet heavily from the beginning on reviving this success from the early 2000s, but after this, it’s clear that the streaming service is betting everything. Ready?
Here we go!
According to Deadline, plans for the new Mean Girls movie have changed. Originally, the film was being prepared for streaming on Paramount+ but now is going theatrical! In addition, the news comes with a release date change. The new one is Jan. 12, 2024 – that’s the MLK 4-day holiday weekend.
This means a big marketing game for the film…and it’s not the first time. A few months ago, Smile movie also made a similar move and it was a success. Only time will tell if the same will happen with Mean Girls new movie.
The new movie stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Avantika, Mahi Alam, Christopher Briney, Bebe Wood, Ashley Park, Connor Ratliff and Jon Hamm.
Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne are directing the new film, from a script by Fey. Broadway Video’s Lorne Michaels has returned to produce alongside Fey, with Erin David, Caroline Maroney and Micah Frank overseeing for Broadway Video, alongside Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond for Little Stranger.
