When it comes to television, there aren’t many shows that I am obsessed with. I find myself not getting too involved with shows, because everything gets cancelled and I am left wondering how it ends. Hell, I am left wondering how half the story goes and though in some instances I don’t care – in most I do.
UPLOAD would be a show that I would be disappointed if it went away. I would be disappointed because I loved Nathan and Nora’s story. I am kinda truly creeped out by the whole prospect of uploading and what that could entail. AI is all sorts of creepy, but it’s also a reality that we’re having to deal with.
So even if UPLOAD and what it entails scares me, a bit, the truth is, it could be a possibility. So even with fear, you have to think of the reality.
I am thankful for the recap that Prime Video gave, because TBH, we love how recaps pick up on the things that we may forget or not think about. So seeing that reminded us that we never want to see an exploding head ever again. That being said, I definitely want to see more of Nathan and Nora.
Yes, I know that some will say that not every show needs to have a ship, but I will say you’re wrong. Ships are an important of any show. People like romance. They like to escape their lives. They like to feel something and that’s what shows should do. So, yes, you can think whatever you want about ships, but they are something that I look forward to and that I know a lot of people do look forward to.
I ship Nathan and Nora. I won’t apologize for that and if you ship them, you shouldn’t either.
So sit back Matteo, you need to let Nora go. You had your chance. You fucked up.
Matteo and Nathan are entertaining to watch – their pissing contest over who is the best for Nora. The thing is, she can make her own choices and for her, it’s finding her happiness. She’s found that with Nathan. No matter how long that she has with Nathan, she wants to enjoy all of the time she has with him.
And they want to stop Freeyond.
Here’s the thing about Freeyond – I get their want to stop it. It honestly is a little scary to me, just based off the fact that it feels so real. It feels so real, because shit like this could happen in real life. Everything is political these days – I mean just look at what is happening in the House of Representatives. So it’s a scary prospect that people would kill for votes.
And killing all of those people – loosing all of their uploads – so that they have no voting rights. It’s a scary prospect.
And it’s also a scary prospect that when they can’t find Nathan at Lakeview, the company just restores him. Factory reset? This whole thing is scary when you think about it and what could be. Sure, it works out for Ingrid, but I think we can all see that is going to be a bad idea.
But here we are, billionaires meeting in secret. Nathan and Nora breaking into buildings. Matteo being a jealous shit. Nathan realizing that he has to get to the server farm – in Elizabeth, New Jersey to shut it all down.
Matteo decides to split Nora and Nathan up when they go on their mission to get Freeyond destroyed. He gives a convincing argument, I will give him that. But what I also hate is that he’s trying to break them up. It’s a strange moment when he’s fighting for a cause but he’s also focused on his romantic life – but I don’t even think it’s that he likes Nora. I feel like for him, it’s that he doesn’t like loosing to a dead guy and that part is too much for him.
But, the trying to win her back – well it’s going to have to take a backseat. Why? Because the cause and the willingness to die for it is really going to come into play. We find out that Detective Sato is a bad guy, and he shoots Matteo. Nora doesn’t have the time to upload him, but she does end up killing Detective Sato.
Nathan has found a video on the server that says that Freeyond’s servers were destroyed and the uploads were lost. Only this has happened yet and so to stop people from giving themselves to Freeyond, he releases it, which makes everyone run.
Matteo passes away and I actually really feel bad for Nora. You can tell it hurts her. She may not want to be with Matteo, but it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care. She also just happened to care about Nathan.
The thing is even though Nora told Nathan not to come, we all knew he was going to find a way to be there for her. Nathan and Nora aren’t ever going to miss the chance to be there for each other. They are going to find a way to show up. That’s their love language.
They both have a lot to tell each other, but we all know that everything has just begun.
OTHER THOUGHTS
- Ingrid getting the Nathan clone… well that tracks. I was rooting for her when she was finally like I am going to do better for myself and get the love that she deserves. She was on the right track.
- Like I like Nathan but also I wonder why everyone is hooked on Nathan
- So glad that Nathan’s Mom wasn’t uploaded to Freeyold and was able to make it out alive
