If you are on social media you know that everyone is still talking about The Other Zoey (and rightfully so). If you’ve watched the movie, we’d love to know what you thought. Love it? Hate it? No matter the stance that you take, we think that we can all agree that the chemistry of the leads is off the charts.
But did you know that there weren’t chemistry reads? Yes, we were shocked too. But that is just a testament to Director Sara Zandieh. When we talked to her, we asked about the cast and the chemistry.
“You know we didn’t do chemistry reads or anything like that,” she said, “I watched all of their work. With Jo I watched the After franchise, and then I watched Outer Banks and was introduced to Drew, and then I watched Archie’s show.”
She continued, “I just thought that they would all get along and they were so good in their previous work.”
We love that she knew – just knew – that they would all be great together. The chemistry for the leads was amazing and being able to put that all together without chemistry reads is amazing.

The movie is about, “Zoey Miller (Langford), a super smart computer nerd uninterested in romantic love, has her life turned upside down when Zack (Drew Starkey), the school’s soccer star, gets amnesia and mistakes Zoey for his girlfriend.” That’s not all there is to this film though. Rather than tell the truth, she follows the Doctor’s advice. She continues being “the other Zoey.”
It stars Josephine Langford, Drew Starkey, and Archie Renaux – three fandom favorites. In addition to Langford, Starkey, and Renaux, the film stars Heather Graham, Andie MacDowell, Patrick Fabian, and Mallori Johnson. The film will be released in theaters and will head to streaming on November 10th.
