We’ve been looking forward to seeing Louis Litt from Suits Rick Hoffman in the upcoming Thanksgiving slasher ever since the first teaser dropped. Sure, we had some fun with that trailer because of how quickly we just knew who was doing the voiceover and all…but still. Our interest is, and always has been, genuine. But let us state for the record that now, we’re even more excited.
Let’s back up for a second. In case you’ve been living under a rock, the actors’ union, SAG-AFTRA, has just scored itself a new deal. So, now that the AMPTP has finally realized that none of the so-called “content” they profit off of is possible without the talent, actors are no longer on strike. Which means, after 118 days, they can talk about their work again. And many are jumping at the opportunity to share their excitement over current and upcoming projects.
One such actor is Hoffman. So far, we’ve seen the trailer in both his Instagram story and in a repost from the film’s official account. (Are we still calling them reposts? If not, too bad. We do what we want.) Litt Hoffman also reposted the official account’s clip of filmmaker Eli Roth, discussing how “growing up, [he] dreamed of writing a slasher movie that would be like Scream. Or Halloween,” as Roth says in the video.
Of course, while these official materials are always fun to watch, the personal messages from the people who make the shows and movies we love have always been the best part of actors’ presence on social media. That and the ability to interact with them. Which, as it turns out, is also the worst part sometimes…but that’s none of our business.
And now, a word from the man formerly known as Litt

“The strike is over, and I am right now, currently, going out to celebrate with everyone in Los Angeles,” Hoffman says in a new Instagram video, which has “Thanksgiving Nov 17th!!” in white text overlayed at the bottom. But, using that great comedic timing of his, he quickly tacks on “…about me being the sexiest man alive,” as a joke aimed at costar Patrick Dempsey, who he calls “Sugar.” (People recently named Dempsey their sexiest man alive.) All jokes and mentions of flying in tiny planes aside, “Big Sexy” eventually gets to the part we’re probably all a bit rusty at — promoting those upcoming projects.
“Go see Thanksgiving! It’s coming out, guys! November 17! Eli Roth! Addison Rae! Patrick ‘Big Sexy’ Dempsey, myself, Nell Verlaque, Milo Manheim…I even think…the actor that played Alf is in it. Go. See. This. Movie! November 17…”
Fittingly, since Hoffman gives his fellow actors a shoutout his post, the official Instagram account for the movie also has a featurette (filmed pre-strike) with the rest of the cast talking about how much they love him. And the caption on that is….um. Well, let’s just say someone’s social media manager knows what’s (Litt) up:
At the end of the video, Hoffman concludes by thanking everyone for still supporting him. To that we say, PSL family forever, Mr. Hoffman. We’ll be seated and ready to guess who the killer is. Afterwards, we can’t wait to discuss the movie with all our fellow horror fans when the time comes.
