One thing that we’re looking forward to this week is Space Cadet. The movie looks both great and horrible and for us that’s enough for us to want to watch.
We also love Emma Roberts and Gabrielle Union, so you know we’re watching whatever they are in. But a movie about space isn’t something that we saw coming from Emma Roberts.
It turns out though that Emma is a space nerd. She loves space and told ScreenRant, “Yes, I’m a space nerd. I love space. That was the first thing I said to Liz Garcia, our writer director. When I met her, I was like, I love space. And then I was like, I sound so dumb. Why did I say that? I love this movie. It’s feel good and to see it come together. I read it on paper. I loved it and to see all the characters brought to life.”
In the movie, “Tiffany “Rex” Simpson (Emma Roberts) has always dreamed of going to space, but life isn’t going quite as planned. Determined to turn things around, she aims high and with the embellishing touch of her supportive best friend Nadine (Poppy Liu), her “doctored” application lands her in NASA’s ultra-competitive astronaut training program. In over her head, Rex relies on her quick wits, moxie and determination to get to the top of her class. NASA program directors Pam (Gabrielle Union) and Logan (Tom Hopper) certainly take notice, but can this Florida girl get through training and into the cosmos before she blows her cover?”
Space Cadet is a comedy about the power of being yourself, following your dreams and shooting for the stars.

The movie will premiere on Prime Video on July 4th, 2024.
