Here we go!
Rising from the Ashes in Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize”

Kreese is determined to resurrect Cobra Kai from his ashes at any cost and his fight begins in Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize.” After Silver’s fall, Sensei Kim Da-Eun had to leave her desire for revenge behind to return to her home and take refuge in the teachings of her grandfather.
When she sees Kreese, she knows the game is far from over, after all, they have known each other since she was a child and he always had her back, even confronting her grandfather for her.
For Kim Da-Eun, the alliance with Silver was strategic, just the means to ensure that her grandfather’s teachings crossed borders, but with Kreese it is different, it’s personal. The two make a good team and this time it will not be different.
Kim Da-Eun is not wrong.
However, as much as in Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize” Kim Da-Eun is tempted to participate in the Seikai Taikai, it’s not her decision, but that of her grandfather. And he doesn’t feel Kreese is prepared to win the competition.
For both him and his granddaughter, for Cobra Kai, any sign of compassion and humanity is a weakness that must be eradicated and Kreese will have to prove that he no longer has a weak point that can separate him from his target. Kreese has to prove that he will remove any obstacle from his path, no matter what — or who — it is.
Kreese’s weakness has always been Johnny. He loves him in a wrong and twisted way, considering him almost like a wayward son to whom he could transmit his teachings and philosophy of life. Kreese always felt Johnny as an equal, he saw his young self in him.
For that reason, Kreese has no scruples and is capable of killing anyone who gets in his way, but when it comes to Johnny he always hesitates to do so. He always tries to get Johnny on his side…until now.
Miyagi-Do Philosophy VS Cobra Kai’s Violence

In Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize” Kreese, for the first time, faces his weakest point and decides to finish him off without hesitation, which ends up making it possible for Cobra Kai to compete in the Sekai Taikai. All of this worries us because Kreese has nothing to lose now and that makes him dangerous and unpredictable.
Furthermore, the episode shows us once again that karate discipline doesn’t have to be bad per se. Maybe harsh, maybe violent, and somewhat ruthless, but not evil. It’s the teachers who turned Cobra Kai into something dangerous when they decided to dispense with any humanity and honor both on and off the dojo.
Kim Da-Eun was not a ruthless person when she was a child but her grandfather’s cruel teachings shaped her character to be so and the same happened with Kreese. He was a pretty decent guy, though definitely with a cold and cruel streak, and Kim Da-Eun’s grandfather’s teachings fueled that cruelty and unscrupulousness until it became his entire personality. The only one who somehow managed to break that vicious circle was Johnny.
Speaking of Johnny, in Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize,” he and Chozen have a mission: find a new house for Johnny and Carmen’s family. But everything gets complicated when he is too honest with a real estate agent asshole. And we have to say that we are very proud of him for avoiding throwing a much-deserved punch at that guy.
Johnny always thinks about hitting first because that’s what he was taught and what he always had to do to survive. But that violence complicated his life more times than it fixed it and it’s time to mature and avoid getting into trouble, for his family. And, unfortunately, growing up means putting up with the urge to hit all the idiots who deserve it most of the time.
Fight Injustice

For his part, in Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize,” Miguel dreams of being admitted to a big university but ends up realizing that his parents can’t exactly afford the cost of his big dream., so he explores other alternatives. And the last thing he expects is to run into Kyler while he’s doing it.
We have to admit that we hated Kyler for a long time because of how he treated Miguel and his subsequent joining of Cobra Kai, but seeing him like this, being the cruel mockery of idiots, allowing himself to be humiliated for a position in a fraternity…it stirred something in us, it made us uncomfortable and we didn’t like that feeling.
It’s curious, the executioner became a victim in his own game and we didn’t feel the satisfaction we expected, on the contrary. That’s why we understand that Miguel couldn’t bear to witness that and do absolutely nothing. At that moment, his past with Kyler didn’t matter. Miguel is a good person and he can’t watch someone being humiliated and not lift a finger to help. He cannot stand injustice. It’s part of the reasons we love him.
And, after seeing what Kyler had to experience in Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize” we made peace with him and what he did. Kyler grew, matured, and learned from his mistakes. That’s fine with us. Plus, we love the advice he gave Miguel. He must fight for his dreams with all his strength, if he doesn’t fight for them, no one will and he will regret it for the rest of his life.
Other Stuff in Cobra Kai 6×02 “The Prize”

- Robby begins to feel that he doesn’t have as bright a future as Miguel does… our poor baby!
- Hawk has a strange reaction every time he hears about MIT. There is definitely more here than meets the eye.
- Johnny has to learn not to be so sincere. Sometimes it’s okay to keep certain things to yourself, especially if you want to find a home for your family.
- We loved that Johnny invited himself to work with Daniel.
- That suit! That tie! No comment.
- And the best thing is that Johnny is really good, so Daniel has no choice but to hire him. LMAO.
- However, the two of them are nothing if not stubborn. Now they are going to be together all the time, both at the dealership and in the dojo, and they are sure to collide. Trouble is brewing in paradise…
