Ever since Suits started smashing streaming records — and kept on “closing” Netflix viewers for 12-ish* weeks — it’s been all downhill from there. (Especially because of the whole franchise treatment with That Man starring in the spinoff…thing) But, Suitors, we actually have good news now. Because our very own Mike Ross, Patrick J. Adams, is being accused…of something other than pretending to be a lawyer. Or, well, that’s at least probably the case. Earlier this week, TV Line reported that Adams will be in Accused Season 2 on FOX, and there’s no mention of fake Harvard Law graduates to be found.
Darvey’s son has grown! Applaud him.
So, at this point, you might be asking yourself one very important question. And it’s the same question we have, actually: “What even is an Accused on FOX?” Then, there’s our followup question: Do we even care, if Adams is there?” That second answer is a simple “absolutely not.” Now, to go back to the first question, let’s consult with the network. Per FOX, Accused is:
“A crime anthology series where viewers are taken on the journey of the defendant. Each episode opens in a courtroom on the accused, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, ‘Accused’ holds a mirror up to the current times with evocative and emotional stories. Viewers discover how an ordinary person gets caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back.”
…amazing. That last part is so very Mike Ross. It’s, basically like starting at Mike’s trial and then recapping the first five seasons of Suits all in one, quick episode. Just, like, without the real story: Counting all the craps. Harvey Specter’s balls growth. Which (sorry, not sorry to anyone who disagrees) included both Mike and Donna.
Anyway. Back to Accused Season 2.
So. If Adams hasn’t been typecast as a guy very, very guilty of practicing law without a license, what’s our favorite fraud up to now? According to the TV Line article, he’s “in the Season 2 installment ‘Marcus’ Story,’ in which a tech entrepreneur creates software that when used takes a dark turn.” Well. Maybe, instead of doing the funniest thing ever and typecasting Patrick J. Adams as a Mike Ross type, they’ll do the second funniest thing ever and have the software…be an evil version of The Donna.
Eh. No one consulted us on this thing, just like they didn’t consult us on the details of That Man’s show (again going to say bringing Pearson back was right there, though). So, that probably won’t happen. But, until we watch — which we definitely will do — and find out what “Pete” is actually like, a fangirl can (and will) clown around.

Accused Season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 1, at 8/7c on FOX. It’ll stream on Hulu the next day.
