The Rookie season 7 news keeps coming! Although this one is not the best. Actually, it’s something we weren’t expecting and it kind of breaks our hearts. Ready?

Thanks to TVLine, we found out that Tru Valentino, who plays Aaron Thorsen, won’t be returning for The Rookie season 7’s run of episodes, so the first episodes of the new season will have to deal with his departure.
Looking at things, we can’t say that this news was a surprise, since it was suspicious that Tru didn’t attend SDCC with the rest of the cast this July. Also, we can now see from a different point of view the new signings that The Rookie season 7 announced.
However, this news is a bucket of cold water for us, since we thought Aaron still had a lot to tell us and season 6 doesn’t feel like a full circle for him at all with his feelings for Celina hanging over his head and the emotional impact of finding out that his therapist, a person he trusted, turned out to be a villain.
So maybe The Rookie season 7 should have cut back on the new cast to keep Tru on the show, just saying…
However, you can’t live on a what-if basis. We just wish Tru Valentino great success in his career and hope that The Rookie season 7 can close his arc in a satisfactory way.
