INTERVIEW: Sophie Skelton On Brianna’s Evolution in Outlander Season 7 Part 2

Outlander season 7 part 2 has been a whirlwind of emotions for Brianna Fraser. We sat down to chat with Sophie Skelton, the star who brings her to life, about the challenges her character faces in this new batch of episodes and how the influences of her parents, Jamie and Claire, help her face them. Brianna’s New Challenges

After the emotional and physical conflicts she experienced in the first episodes of the season, Brianna now faces even more complicated tests. Skelton comments that her character deals with a mix of challenges. Her position as a mother and wife forces her to face threats that endanger her stability and the new life she built with Roger while trying to reunite her family and end her enemies.

In addition, the difficult decisions she must make push her to limits she hadn’t experienced before. According to Sophie, this part of the season shows Brianna facing not only the consequences of time travel but also the pressures of protecting what she cares about most when everything seems to be against her.

Jamie and Claire’s Legacy

Brianna is a character largely defined by what she has inherited from her parents Jamie and Claire. In Outlander season 7 part 2, Skelton reflects on how those influences shape her character’s decisions and actions, as she has traits of both. From her father, Jamie, Brianna seems to have received bravery that often leads her to act impulsively when she feels her family is in danger. That same determination, however, can become a source of conflict, as it puts her in high-risk situations.

From her mother, Claire, Brianna has adopted a pragmatic intelligence and a sense of emotional resilience that help her stay calm and think quickly in times of crisis. Skelton explains that it’s this mix of traits that allows Brianna to stand firm in the face of obstacles, as although she sometimes feels like she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, the influence of Jamie and Claire is always there, giving her the strength she needs to move forward.
