Nothing really surprises us, especially when it comes to people cancelling television shows that shouldn’t be cancelled. The latest, that would be LAID, which starred and was executive produced by Stephanie Hsu. The catchy title, unique premise, and all star cast had us watching every episode on the edge of our seat.
The show did not generate as much buzz as they thought it would and to us that’s really a disappointment. It’s one of the best shows to come out in the past year.
LAID followed, “Ruby Yao, a 33-year-old single woman who is searching for love, finds herself at the center of a mystery. After one of her ex-boyfriends passes away, others begin suffering the same fate — mysteriously dying in the order she slept with them. As the body count rises, she is forced to confront her romantic past to figure out what is happening and how to stop the murder spree.”
We left off season one with a cliffhanger – Ruby’s estranged father showing up at her door. It was a segway to a possible season two of the show. It’s actually quite the disappointment that we’re leaving off on a cliffhanger and we’re never going to get answers.
In addition to Hsu, Laid starred Zosia Mamet, Tommy Martinez, Michael Angarano. Guest stars such as Andre Hyland, Kate Berlant, David Denman, John Early, Ettore “Big E” Ewen, Chloe Fineman, Olivia Holt, Simu Liu, Finneas O’Connell, and Alexandra Shipp.
Not thrilled about this cancellation, but here we are. Did you watch LAID? What are your thoughts on the show being cancelled?
