Sometimes there is a perfect setup to another season of a television show, and I get excited over that. Then there’s the whole thing where I get excited, but I don’t trust anyone that things won’t get cancelled. If I don’t get resolution to what has happened with this first seasons end – I will riot. So give us that renewal Peacock. Cause that was an ending was WOW. Laid Season 1, Episode 8, you were vicious.
We’re picking up – don’t know how much time has passed – but Ruby and Isaac are dry humping. It looked intense and at first I thought oh, the hex is transferred. But we grow to see that they were dry humping through jeans. Talented they are – can make sex look hot and then make you laugh.
This entire season of Laid has been a whole lot of awww, and then omg, and then WTF. Not all the time do I like this – but with this show, it fits. It actually is a lot of dry humor and well, dry humor is my language.
What I do wish that we could have seen was Ruby choose Isaac. Jumping right to Isaac and her dry humping – I found myself thinking – wait, what about Richie? I want Ruby and Isaac to work out, but I do think that Richie deserves some closure too. Ruby showing up at his work – it doesn’t mean that Richie got closure.

You can tell how much Richie is hurting, because his whole demeanor has changed. He’s distant, angry, and annoyed. He tells her to pick up her stuff and her dog from his apartment. Dare I say it… Richie has a broken heart.
Watching this show, you have to feel bad for some of the characters, because their feelings get hurt. A LOT. Yet they all grow.
Including Ruby, who decides to show up at therapy. Her shrink is put off by what she’s saying – so she releases Ruby from being her patient. Kinda made me mad, because Ruby needs help and is trying to do the work. Ruby lays it all out on the table and her shrink tells her that she needs to start thinking of other people.
AJ is at home when Richie shows up with all of Rubys stuff. Zach is also showing up, trying to win her back. AJ doesn’t want to hear any of his stuff, but when a singing telegram arrives later that day, she’s given an invitation to show up to a dinner. And at that dinner, she is in for the shock of her life – Amanda Knox is there. AJ has one hour to talk to Amanda about anything she wants.
TBH, I don’t mind that AJ got to meet Amanda Knox – I think that was a great moment. Just found some of Amandas lines to be in poor taste.
Amanda tells AJ that Zach did this for her, but AJ knows better. She knows that Ruby did it and leaves to find Ruby. I love that these two made up. Best friends make mistakes (a lot of them) and finding forgiveness is something that anyone needs to do.

What made me so happy was that AJ said she wants her to transfer the hex. Of course this made Isaac and Zach happy (as it should). But who to transfer it to? They come up with some outrageous names, but decide on their upstairs neighbor. It made me laugh, because they were just ruthless.
The good thing is though – AJ has made up with Ruby and Zach. So none of them have to make these choices alone. The four of them do the steps to transfer the hex together.
We fast forward a month. Believing that the transfer is complete, Isaac and Ruby finally have sex. There’s a knock on the front door and Ruby goes to get it, only to find her father on the other side of the door. She was confused how he found her, but he pulls out her letter. Richie had sent the letter she wrote him.
Damnit, I really like Richie now. Rubys Dad – not so much. He left her.
We find out that one of the men Ruby slept with just died. That hex has not been transferred. I feel cheated. Isaac and Zach are going to die. This is not a good situation for anyone.

As Ruby tries to tell her father to go, he keeps saying let me help you. I can understand why it is that she says no, but when he drops the bomb that the same think is happening to him – my jaw was on the floor.
Followed by a lot of curse words, because they left us like that. Yes, there’s a huge cliffhanger. Not please Peacock. Not pleased.
Laid has been a roller coaster ride, that I have enjoyed. Need more. Where is that renewal?
Laid Season 1, Episode 8 review was a shocker, but if you missed it – don’t worry. The entires season of Laid is streaming now on Peacock.
