Linda Cardellini is about to bless our screens once again in the upcoming Peacock series Crystal Lake! But things are going to be a little bloodier than we’ve ever seen her before.
Starring as Pam Voorhees, this 8-episode series tells the story of a single mother and the grief that follows her after the tragic death of her son Jason. And it acts as the first real building blocks that lead up to the events of Friday the 13th. In the 1980 movie she’s the one that goes on a killing spree to punish the camp counselors who weren’t watching her son at Camp Crystal Lake. And it’s her resurrected son that continues the killings in all the sequels that follow.

The series is set to start around Jasons death and it follows her “descent into madness” according to Entertainment Weekly. Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane also told EW, “We wanted to see her unraveling after [watching] the events of the movie that everybody knows. We wanted to see her relationship with Jason and what his death kicks off in her — her trying to find some sort of equilibrium in her life after the thing that ostensibly she lives for, her son, was taken away from her, and how all the people around her and the circumstances surrounding her make that impossible to do. So it’s really a character piece.”
