New characters on shows we love make our minds spin. We start thinking about all of the possibilities and who that character may end up being, the drama that they may cause and whose life they may turn upside down.
Because new characters always turn things upside down.
Returning characters always turn things upside down.
And now that our favorite show, Emily In Paris, has added new characters and some are returning – our attention is focused.
Bryan Greenberg (One Tree Hill, Suits LA) has joined the cast as recurring. He will be playing Jake, an American living in Paris. Though we’re so excited for him to join the show, he will always and forever be a different Jake and we’re not loving that he has taken on a new Jake role. It’s hard to explain – but if you are a fan of One Tree Hill you understand.
French actress Michèle Laroque (Better Days) is also joining the cast. She will play Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie’s and the most shocking part is that Sylvie has friends. We didn’t see that one coming.
Returning are Paul Forman, who has been recurring since Season 3, but we didn’t know if that would mean that he was returning. You may remember that at the end of the last season, his character and Mindy broke up. Nico wasn’t kind to her and he better correct his attitude or he can go away.
Arnaud Binard, who has recurred since Season 2 as Sylvie’s husband Laurent G, is also returning. Hopefully he’s going to be there for his daughter, as Genevieve is manipulative and is always up to something, so we need him to be there to be a father to her.
And of course Sylvie – he needs to be there for Sylvie too.
Emily In Paris Season 5 is currently in production. Season 5 cast also includes Lily Collins, Philipa Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, Eugenio Franceschini, Minnie Driver and Thalia Besson.
Season 5 of Emily In Paris will premiere globally on Netflix in 2025 and we can’t wait!
