Although House of the Dragon Season 3 is still a ways away, news is starting to trickle in. For now, the latest casting addition gives Queen Rhaenyra a powerful new ally. All the details are below!
According to Deadline, Annie Shapero has joined House of the Dragon Season 3 as Alysanne “Black Aly” Blackwood. In Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, Alysanne is a very skilled archer and huntress. She not only supports the Blacks, but also becomes the second wife of Lord Cregan Stark of Winterfell. Yes, the one we briefly met in Season 2. Furthermore, she is instrumental in bringing peace to Westeros after years of war.
As Deadline reports in the same news, Shapero will not be a series regular but will appear in five episodes of the new season. Only time will tell if those episodes will be enough to adapt her entire story or if we’ll have her back for the next season, though, considering her marriage to a Stark, we might be seeing more of her in the future.
Before Annie Shapero’s addition, TVLine reported that Season 3 added Barry Sloane as Ser Adrian Redfort, Tom Cullen as Ser Luthor Largent, and Jopin Sibtain as Ser “Bold” Jon Roxton to its roster of new cast members. TVLine also reported the addition of Tommy Flanagan as Ser Roderick Dustin, Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly, and James Norton as Ormund Hightower.
So, Season 3 of our favorite show has added quite a few new names to the mix, and we’re excited! We’re Team Black, but we know the Greens aren’t going to make it easy for Queen Rhaenyra, so the fight is on.
We already have the popcorn in the cupboard. We just need a premiere date to get them out. Will it come soon? Fingers crossed. In the meantime, we’ll enjoy any news we get, of course.
House of the Dragon Season 3 will premiere soon on HBO.
