Now if there is a franchise that we love because we grew up with it and it embraced most little girls fantasy of becoming a princess – it’s The Princess Diaries. Anne Hathaway became our favorite, we loved bestie dynamics and Chris Pine became our favorite because of the franchise.
And yes, there have long been rumors of Princess Diaries 3 and while we’ve believed the rumor and speculation (because hey, if you don’t have hope, what do you have) we needed something to tell us it was happening.
And then we saw something online that showed that it was.
“TO ALL PRINCESSES-IN-THE-MAKING, consider this your formal invitation to the ball. Can’t wait to see you. ❤️👑😎,” the caption reads.

Meg Cabot has written a dozen or so books in the Princess Diaries franchise. And becayse of the casting call, we believe that The Princess Diaries 3 will follow The Princess Diaries, Volume XI: Royal Wedding. Why?
Because they are casting for Mia’s half sister – Olivia. Yes, we were shocked that she had a sister, but that’s good writing – when we’re kept on our toes. Who doesn’t love a plot twist?
In the casting call, Olivia is described as, “Smart, sarcastic, armored, and observant, Olivia Robinson wants to be left alone. After her mother passed away, she withdrew into herself, masking her sadness with caustic wit. But under her prickly exterior, Olivia’s natural warmth, compassion and courage to stand up to power is exactly what makes her a natural born leader The only thing standing in the way is herself.”
We love an open casting and can’t wait to see who they cast. We are so excited for another movie in the franchise.
