Netflix understands that we all want more romance movies. They understand that at this point, with everything going on in the world, we need an outlet. Romance movies are a great outlet. We also just love them.
The romance movie in question – well, that would be Saturn Return. The title has us thinking it would be a movie about space and that we don’t want. We’re still traumatized by 2015’s Jupiter Rising (don’t ask how it triggers us to that, it just does).
Saturn Return is set to star Charles Melton, Rachel Brosnahan and Will Poulter. The movie is a romance, “exploring the themes of love, loss and life’s complicated turns in the 10 years between the aspirational young love of college and the complicated realities of adulthood.”
The film is written by Gaelyn Golde with revisions by director Greg Kwedar and Clint Bentley. It takes place in Chicago and though we don’t know much about it, it has our attention. Sometimes we don’t need to know more than the general theme and the actors involved.
This would be one of those cases.
We recently saw Melton and Poulter in the A24 movie, Warfare, one of the best war movies we’ve ever seen. Brosnahan recently starred in the latest iteration of Superman. Excited to see all three of them together in this film.
