In an unexpected turn of events, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come looks even more fun that the first one. Ready or Not premiered in 2019 and became a surprising hit. It was funny, really really dark, and found a way to blend together so many genres from action and comedy to horror. Now Samara Weaving’s Grace is coming back for more with her sister Faith, played by Kathryn Newton, at her side. But that’s not all.
Grace thought she’d escaped the dark game she inadvertently found herself in when she married into the Le Domas family. But the nightmare isn’t over because she has another game to play against four rival families of the same calibre. What’s at stake? Oh well, the High Seat of the Council that controls the world! So, you know things are going to ten times more intense, hopefully without losing it’s charm from the first movie.
And what makes this movie seem more fun that the first one? The cast! You have Sarah Michelle Gellar herself cackling and staking Grace in the trailer for reasons. You also have Newton sassing with Weaving, giving us a preview of their dynamic. There’s also Elijah Wood, playing the charismatic a**hole host of this game. And for fans of Wynonna Earp, Varun Saranga is also part of the cast! (That one right there is a little fun Easter Egg for fans since Melanie Scrofano was in the first Ready or Not).
Read the synopsis below:
Moments after surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace (Samara Weaving) discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) at her side. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.
