The political thriller Paradise, created by Dan Fogelman — known for This Is Us — has been a revelation on Hulu, managing to capture our attention. Not just that, but to keep us asking for more. The first season took us to a community with some of the most influential people in the world. However, a shocking murder brought dark secrets to light and unleashed a high-stakes investigation.
Now, Season 2 is almost here! And thank goodness, because we had questions. And, if everything goes as planned, Paradise will return for season 3. Fingers crossed.
For now, here’s what we know of the second season.

The Cast:
Sterling K. Brow will return as Xavier Collins and, along with him, Julianne Nicholson as Samantha Redmond, Sarah Shahi as Dr. Gabriela Torabi, Nicole Brydon Bloom as Agent Jane Driscoll, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and James Marsden as President Cal Bradford. Paradise Season 2 also features Jon Beavers, Charlie Evans, Krys Marshall, and Enuka Okuma.
Apart from them, according to Deadline , Shailene Woodley will join the cast. She’ll play a “major recurring role” as a “prominent survivor” tied to Agent Xavier’s mission in the season 1 finale. Also, thanks to Deadline, we know that Thomas Doherty is also reportedly joining the season 2 cast as a major recurring character. He’ll play Link, “the leader of a biker gang,” who is tied to Xavier’s arc which kicks off in the season 1 finale. He has the potential of sticking around if the show is renewed for a third season.
Also, thanks to Deadline, we know that Patrick Fischler will be joining Season 2 too. He will have a key recurring role. Details are still under wraps, but he will reportedly be playing “a brilliant professor trying to balance his work with a quietly challenging personal life.”
Paradise Season 2 also features Michael McGrady and Timothy Omundson as recurring characters with arcs tied to Agent Xavier Collins, as Deadline reports. And, according to Variety, Ryan Michelle Bathé will join season 2 as a guest star. Her character and storyline are a secret for now.

The Plot:
The end of the first season leaves loose ends that will serve for Season 2. And the synopsis for the Season is: “Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.” Additionally, the character of Dr. Gabriela Torabi, played by Sarah Shahi, could gain more prominence, as the actress has expressed interest in exploring her story further.
Also, in an interview with TV Insider, Sterling K. Brown said that “we know what the billionaires and the people of power did. Then we found out in [Episode 4] that there’s still breathable air. You see in [Episode 7] that the nukes did not go off, that there’s still life as we know it but maybe very different because the natural disaster still transpired. So I think in Season 2, the idea is to explore what happened to the rest of the world, what does that look like?”
We’re excited!
