We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: Tim talking about Lucy and what she means to him on this week’s The Rookie. The way he describes how she taught him that he deserved that kind of pure love brought tears to my eyes.
Jeanette: It’s hard to narrow down one scene, but I’ve been really digging Widow’s Bay. If I had to pick—because I’m a horror girlie—I loved the moment in Episode 2 when Matthew Rhys’ character was in the crawl space of the inn, and the clown killer appeared. The way he crawled forward and took shape out of the darkness felt like a total Pennywise moment. And if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I LOVE Pennywise.
Rachel: Everything in the stadium in this week’s episode of The Testaments. Not only was Ann Dowd worthy of an Emmy as we see her become Aunt Lydia to survive, but the harrowing things she goes through were a frightening depiction of how fascism takes control. It feels way too close to our current situation in the US.
Ashley W.: Charlie Cox‘s Matt Murdock certainly knows how to make an entrance! His grand return to the public eye at Karen Page’s trial in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 7: “The Hateful Darkness” was SO iconic. I loved and missed seeing him back in his element as a lawyer.
Lyra: Controversial take but… that scene on 9-1-1 when Eddie went to stop Buck from seeing who was in the car accident. Ryan Guzman’s eyes though. The emotion there was just so real. And it echoed what Buck tried to do with Eddie when it came to Shannon dying.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: Chenford from ABC’s The Rookie, of course.
Jeanette: Listen, I’m here to continue repping Deborah Vance and Ava on Hacks because… well, someone has to do it. That said, I also ship Deborah with Marty, which I know is pretty unpopular, but if done right, there could be a sweet second-chance romance in the cards for them. Plus, he’s single again after that wedding disaster.
Rachel: I have been impatiently waiting for anything to do with The Love Hypothesis film adaptation (and I’m an anti-Reylo!) and we finally got a glimpse in a promo this week, so I’ll say Olive and Adam.
Jasmine: As I’ve said before, I know Rue and Jules’ relationship is crazy but I still love them together so so much. That’s why I was happy to see Rue asked her to be her plus one at Nate and Cassie’s wedding on Euphoria 3×03. Even though they have a crazy relationship they know they can still depend on each other.
Best Performance of the Week

Shana: The problem with this category is, TV really is an embarrassment of riches. On all the shows I cover, there are often multiple actors to choose from within a single episode. Which is great? But it’s also unfair because no matter who I choose, I feel like I’m leaving someone—a lot of someones—out. With that being said, since I don’t cover The Testaments and therefore don’t regularly get to praise that cast, I’m going to go ahead and submit Ann Dowd here. This week’s episode put her in that terrible flashback at the very beginning of the fascist takeover of what would become Gilead, and it was just…wow.
Lydia’s fear, horror, exhaustion…the way she stays terrified as she finds an “in” with Commander Judd to save her own skin—it’s all just remarkable, especially during the big climax where she hesitates over the first thing she’s ask to do to prove her loyalty but, ultimately, goes for it. You can actually see her transition from regret, to faking it until she makes it, to shutting down and convincing herself of…all of it when she truly becomes Aunt Lydia there at the end. Incredible.
Rachel: I have to agree with Shana on this one. Having read The Testaments, I knew the story that was coming for Aunt Lydia but Ann Dowd elevated everything with her performance. Her excellent work made the reveal that she is working against Gilead all the more satisfying. I can’t wait to watch what she does for the rest of the season.
Ashley W.: I loved Bridget Regan and Shawn Ashmore’s performances during the scene between Monica and Wesley in The Rookie season 8, episode 17: “Dead Ringer.” It was so emotional and well done that it nearly broke me. I’ve never liked Monica but always appreciated her role as an antagonist, and that scene was a great, heartfelt send-off for the character even if her ultimate ending was a tragic result of her hubris. It was also touching to see Wesley recall Monica’s best qualities and what made her someone he loved when they were together.
Raquel: I completely agree with Ashley. She said it all! I’d just add a special mention to Eric Winter for that scene choosing the ring.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Rachel: Yeah, that promo I was talking about that showed very brief shots of The Love Hypothesis? It had a release month for every movie and show EXCEPT The Love Hypothesis! What’s that about? Give us some sort of release window, Amazon!
Raquel: I agree with Rachel on this one! Also, I want a release date for Maxton Hall! Please and thank you. PS: I’m still obsessed with this show.
Jasmine: Cassie and Nate’s wedding on Euphoria 3×03. Talk about the worst couple ever. I’m honestly stunned they even got married at all. But ya know what? They had the wedding they both deserved. 🤷🏽♀️
Amanda: This is more infuriating than annoying, but it is annoying. In the latest episode of Chicago Med, Dr. Frost found out his dad knew he was being sexually abused as a teenager and dismissed it for all these years, essentially saying “What teenage boy wouldn’t want an older woman to sleep with him?” He gave his parents a second (and third) chance at being in his life after they financially ruined him, and now Dr. Frost is regretting ever doing that. It’s also implied that although his dad knew, his mom was completely unaware of the abuse, which is also terrible!
Shana: Acosta stealing the ambulance and deciding she was just going to, like…drive it out of town in FROM Season 4 Episode 2. Like, WTF did she think? That nobody had ever tried, that they want to be here? And then, to see little Ethan wandering down the road, alone, after he just saw his dad’s corpse hanging upside down in the barn, and be like “he’s fine”?! WTF. Girl. Get a grip. Seriously. Why not try going outside alone at night while you’re at it, fool?
Lyra: Dixie on 9-1-1: Nashville annoyed me to no end. What do you mean you wrote a diss track about your ex’s wife after said wife paid for your surgery so you wouldn’t lose your voice? Blythe has been a literal angel when it comes to you and your involvement in her life because she acknowledges that you and Don (her husband) have a kid together. And you do this?! No. Enough is enough and I can’t wait until Blythe fights back. Because that’s what you want, Dixie. You don’t want Don. You want a fight. And Blythe is going to give it to you.
