Another bestselling suspense novel is making its way to our screen? Hell yeah! Count My Lies, based on Sophie Stava’s acclaimed debut novel, will be our new obsessional we’re sure of that! Here’s everything we know about the show.
The story centers on Sloane Caraway, a woman whose habit of telling seemingly harmless lies unexpectedly opens the door to a glamorous new life. After a chance encounter with Jay and Violet Lockhart, a wealthy New York couple who appear to have everything, Sloane becomes deeply involved in their world.
But as she grows closer to the family, she begins to realize that her own deceptions may be the least dangerous secrets in the room. What starts as a tale of reinvention quickly spirals into a tense thriller filled with hidden agendas, shocking revelations, and the dark truths lurking beneath a picture-perfect facade.

The Cast:
Lindsay Lohan was the first actor attached to the series, marking her debut in a television role. She is set to portray Violet, a magnetic and influential woman who brings Shailene Woodley’s Sloane Caraway into her household by offering her a job. Shortly afterward, Woodley joined the cast as Sloane, a habitual liar whose unexpected opportunity places her at the center of Violet’s world.
Kit Harington has been cast as Jay Lockhart, Violet’s husband. Meanwhile, The Pitt actress Katherine LaNasa will take on the role of Tracy, Sloane’s mother. Lou Diamond Phillips is also set for a recurring role as Paul, Tracy’s boyfriend.
The supporting cast continues to grow with Sophia Bush playing Allison, a fashionable architect and mother living in Tribeca, while François Arnaud from Heated Rivalry fame will appear as Danny, one of Violet’s close friends.
The series comes from former This Is Us executive producers and co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who developed the project under their overall agreement with 20th Television. The show is heading to Hulu, with Aptaker and Berger serving as both executive producers and showrunners through their production banner, The Walk-Up Company.
Lindsey Lohan and Shailene Woodley are also attached as executive producers, alongside Scott Morgan, who represents The Walk-Up Company. The novel’s author, Stava, is involved as a producer on the adaptation as well.
Production is being handled by 20th Television, a division of Disney Television Studios, where Aptaker and Berger continue to work under their long-term overall deal.

The Plot:
According to the synopsis, in Count My Lies Season 1 “when compulsive liar Sloane Caraway (Woodley) fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet (Lindsay Lohan) and Jay Lockhart (Kit Harington), it seems she’s finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.”
Release Date:
A release date has not yet been set for Count My Lies, but Hulu and Disney+’s social media accounts posted that the series has begun production. So we’ll be keeping an eye out!
