Season 1 ends with Qifrey and the apprentices being attacked by the Brimmed Caps during a trial in the Serpentback Cave. Agott and Richeh were separated after Eunie gets turned into a scaled wolf, and Agott chases after him. Qifrey, Coco, and Tetia fall into the depths of the Serpentback Cave. And even though Qifrey is injured, he pulls himself together to defend his apprentices when the Romonon appear. Season 2 is set to pick up right after this Brimmed Caps attack.
The announcement of Season 2, and the acquisition of it airing exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide except Asia, also came with a Season 2 illustration from Shirahama. In it we see Agott, Richeh, Olruggio, Tetia, Qifrey, Coco, and the beloved brushbuddy. And in the background you can see the atelier and a ribbon that says, “Thank you.”
