When we last left Team Arrow, Oliver Queen had come out to the world: He was, indeed, the Green Arrow. His confession landed him in prison where he was torn away from his family and team. And when we pick up with Arrow in season 7, we’re going to find out exactly what Oliver’s been up to in the past six months.
Spoiler alert: Nothing good.
Oliver is battered and bruised and surrounded by the very enemies he’s put away in this first look trailer at season 7, which debuted at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. The trailer shows us a very different Oliver Queen than when we last left him. “There’s nothing heroic about him,” Stephen Amell told us at SDCC.
While Oliver is locked away in Supermax, Felicity and William must struggle with Oliver’s absence both in a personal way and safety-wise, as Ricardo Diaz, apparently, still hasn’t died. The rest of the team is struggling with the new vigilante laws, where no vigilantes have been spotted in five months. That is, until a new vigilante shows up in town.
With new showrunner Beth Schwartz taking over the reins, we can’t help but get excited about the direction of this new season. Where we get the superhero and the personal, the relationships that make these stories more meaningful. So are we excited about the new season of Arrow? You’re damn right.
Arrow season 7 premieres Monday, Oct. 15 at 8/7c on The CW.
