You’ll be hearing us talk a lot about Roswell, because we loved the original and we’re excited for a second chance. It’s always exciting when there is a return that isn’t the same and gives a new lease on something that we know we’re gonna love.
And how could you not when you know that Carina MacKenzie is involved, as well Julie Plec shooting the pilot episode.
The lead in Roswell has been cast and if you’re a Grey’s Anatomy fan you may recognize the face. Jeanine Mason has been cast as the lead, Liz Ortecho, in the reboot of the beloved series. Mason currently recurs as Dr. Sam Bello on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and started her career on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance.
Now this isn’t the Roswell that we have always known and we’re okay with that. We’re looking forward to this new Roswell, which has been developed by MacKenzie, “After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.”
The series is based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz.
