If you haven’t caught up with the mainstream on Netflix, let me fill you in. The Witcher and You have been crushing it on it’s popularity contest. I lean more towards The Witcher and there’s a very special reason, out of a 100 reasons, why I loved the show so much.
His name is Jaskier. He is the jolly soul that nobody wants around. I can relate! Here are 4 reasons Jaskier from The Witcher is my secret twin.
1. He is always singing
If you know me, you know I can’t spend one moment without singing. It gets annoying I know but this very thing happens to our beloved Jaksier.
He is just trying to capture the world around him through songs and lyrics. For him, music is about telling a story or making people see the world in a different more romanticized way.
2. He just wants a friend
He might be annoying in a similar fashion to Donkey from Shrek but all he really wants is to make friends. Do you know how hard it is to make friends as an adult?
It’s HARD, at least for me. Sometimes I can be awkward or persistent in order to make friends with someone I really look up to. This why I can relate so well to him.
3. He has good intentions but always gets in trouble for it
I don’t know why, but every time I try to do something nice for someone it always turns out backfiring for me. Either people misinterpret things or they flat out don’t need my help with anything and I just make a fool of myself.
At least, I don’t end up with a weird magic tumor on my throat for trying to figure out why Geralt hasn’t been sleeping well.
4. He is sensitive about his art
I may not be a singer songwriter but I am an illustrator. I am always eager to share my art with the world, but sometimes I get a bit sensitive about the response my art gets.
I do always ask for opinions because I want to get better and I feel Jaskier is the same. That’s why he spends the better half of the show asking Geralt what he thinks about his music.
