Weight is a very touchy subject for many. Body acceptance is very important.
So, you’re gonna ask yourself why is Fangirlish talking about this. Well, because I can, but also because I love seeing people finding comfort in their body no matter the size.
Being proud of your body is something that we should all be. I think that it took me decades to start to accept my body, and I am not ashamed of that. Because – the point is I got there.
I absolutely love Adrienne Bailon – I have since her Cheetah Girls days.
The actress is now a talk show host, and I absolutely love watching The Real. It’s a great show that really breaks down life and tells you exactly what it is. Real opinions are so important versus a cookie cutter “this is politically correct” approach.
Bailon, like us all, has been quarantined during the pandemic. She took to Instagram to show off her 20 pound weight loss.
“May 1st 2020 🖤 During this time more than ever,” Adrienne wrote in the Instagram post. “Staying healthy is at the top of my mind! This is my first post in a bathing suit since losing 20lbs. Now… I’ve lost weight before but always gained it back… because I was dieting & not changing my lifestyle!”
She continued by saying: “But not this time… It’s been a year since I “had enough” (have you ever gotten there? Where you’re just tired of complaining about what you don’t like & you’re finally ready to take action & REALLY make changes!) Well, I made major changes like choosing to eat plant based 🌱 changing my whole relationship with food & working out! I’ve been consistent with my self discipline (although it’s been so hard at times). I’m constantly reminding myself that the greatest form of self love – is self discipline! They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit… I just want to encourage you to take this time to develop healthy habits! Drink your water, squat, rest, read, pray, take your vitamins, eat your veggies! (Preaching to myself to keep going! Lol.) It’s a new month! Let’s do this! BESOS Xx”
We’re proud of her, because she’s proud of herself. And her pride in herself is the inspiring part.
We should all be proud of who we are, no matter our size.
