If you haven’t watched Julie and The Phantoms yet, you should. The Netflix show is not what I expected, but that’s what made it even better than I thought it would be.
The music of the series is absolutely amazing and Madison Reyes has a voice that competes with some of the most beautiful voices of our time.
In this age of social distancing, people can’t get together, so press junkets are taking place virtually and studios are finding the most creative ways to share content.
And the stars of the new Netflix series – Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, Owen Joyner and Jeremy Shada – were able to perform to their hit “Edge of Great” for the world.
And it’s really fucking good.
If you aren’t familiar with the show, here’s the synopsis –
High schooler Julie lost her passion for music after her mom died last year. But when the ghosts of three dreamy musicians from 1995 suddenly appear in her mom’s old music studio, Julie feels her own inner spirit beginning to reawaken, and she’s inspired to start singing and writing songs again. As their friendship with Julie grows, the boys convince her to create a new band together: Julie and the Phantoms.
