After the Moxie! premiere and having poured all our feelings into our review, the second part of our exclusive interview with Josephine Langford is coming your way! We know that you really want to read it, so we leave you with it.
Here we go!
As we already mentioned, we began the interview at the end. Our first question to Josephine was about the last scene from Moxie! In that scene we discover that Mitchell raped Emma, and the truth is that Josephine’s performance moved us to tears. It was really powerful, both the message of the scene and that moment when she finally says out loud for the first time that she is a survivor, that she got through something horrible, hard and difficult, something that she but pushed through to find her voice, lifting her higher than ever.
Even her voice cracks for a moment, perfectly reflecting Emma’s feelings, reverberating throughout the audience. We figured it didn’t have to be easy for Josephine to play that scene.

We wanted to know how Josephine prepared for this scene and if she interviewed any survivors, as well as how emotional it was for her. This is what she told us and, really, there’s nothing wasted about this answer … you have to read it.
“No, I didn’t (interview survivors) but what was really special about that was that I got out before we did it because, obviously there was a lot of extras around, more than 100 extras, and she (Emma) just said to everyone this is what’s going on. This is what we’re about to do. This is what the thing is. And if this is uncomfortable or troubling to anyone, you can go to hero here and you can speak to this person, you can end this. And I’ve never seen that sensitivity before, which I think is so important with what happens in the final scene and that sort of content. And it was really … just feeling the support of the women on set. So that’s a big thing”.
Josephine Langford
As you have seen, it was best to hold back this wonderful Josephine answer until now. If we had published it along with the rest of the interview, we would have ruined Moxie! for you and this movie is worth enjoying from the beginning to the end as if it were the first time and without anyone spoiling you.
The other option was to delete part of Josephine’s answer and this answer really deserves to read word for word, because it is so good… we didn’t want to distort it or make it lose even one iota of its power.
We hope you have forgiven us for making you wait a bit and that you enjoyed this small part of our interview with Josephine that was pending. We can only tell you that we already loved Josephine before we had the opportunity to speak with her, now, we love her and admire her beyond words.
