Anything that Rebecca Serle writes, I will read. She writes books that make you feel hope, love, and make you feel alive. She’s a wordsmith and this is a hill that I will die on.
Her book, When You Were Mine, is being adapted to film, with Kaitlyn Dever set to star as Rosaline and Isabella Merced set to star as Juliet. When You Were Mine (the adaptation is entitled Rosaline), it’s the story of Romeo and Juliet told from Rosaline’s point of view. Only Rosaline is Romeo’s ex, and what starts out with her wanting to win back her ex, becomes about Rosaline’s growth and self discovery and changes to her wanting to get the star-crossed lovers back together.
And now, Romeo has been cast and we’re drooling.
Kyle Allen has been set to play Romeo and guys, we’re really sorry that we’ve been sleeping on this mans hotness, cause LORD. We’re talking WOAH.
Want some proof?
He’s beautiful and I’ll be sitting down to watch all of his acting ASAP.
The movie will be directed by Karen Maine, with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen producing.
Rosaline was originally at MGM, but when it hit the market 20th Century. Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber penned the script for the adaptation.
No word on production dates as of yet, but we’ll be paying attention and covering everything about this movie.
