It’s true. We’re obsessed with Gossip Girl. So much so that sometimes we don’t think about the lines that are in the show. The ones that have to do with pop culture and specific people in the spotlight.
But the people who are part of the conversation are having issues with the lines in Gossip Girl.
Suki Waterhouse wasn’t happy over the line in the third episode, “When are you going to get it? As far as the press is concerned, he’s R-Patz and you’re Suki Nobody.”
The line was said by Luna, while she was trying to manipulate Zoya and teach her all of her PR Skills. She was telling Zoya she needed to up her social media, because she is dating the “king of New York,” Obie.
Suki didn’t take kindly and wrote some now deleted tweets.
“Another day to be reminded that women can also be the patriarchy,” Suki wrote in a now deleted tweet.
Suki later added, “Seeing critiques of patriarchy and sexism, then I get name checked as somebody’s ‘nobody’ girlfriend. Make it make sense!”
Suki Waterhouse has been dating Robert Pattinson since 2018.
What do you think of the line? Was it meant to be hurtful? Sound off in the comments.
