If you’ve been a fan of Ben Barnes for a long time, then you know he’s not only a talented actor. He can also sing. That’s right, Ben Barnes can sing. Back in March as we were preparing for Netflix to release Shadow and Bone, we did a list of the 6 Things You Should Know About Ben Barnes, and we talked briefly about his musical abilities.
For those of you that may not know this, in 2004, Ben was in a boyband in the UK called Hyrise. They even auditioned for Eurovision. The whole process took a toll on Ben, to the point that it made him hide his musical talents for a while. Thankfully, he started to share his talents with the world again and we got a taste of his talent when he starred in the film Jackie & Ryan with Katherine Heigl. Ben has an amazing voice, and we highly recommend you check him out in this film because you will enjoy it. My personal favorite song he sings in the film has always been Southbound.
Ben’s love for music is constantly on display. He has posted tons and tons of covers and duets on his Instagram account. We live for them, and his voice just gives us the warm fuzzies. Fans of Ben have been begging for him to release his own music, because we know he’s talented enough to do it. Seems our dream may finally be coming true. Ben dropped a post on his Twitter that got us all in a flurry of speculation.
The post is a photo of him leaning over his piano with a black book lined in gold edging, with the initials BB that looks a lot like it could be a book of songs. Sitting on top of the book is a watch with the time 11:11 on it. Yes, I zoomed in on the time and so did a lot of other people okay?
The caption reads.

“Just a timely clue for now… some news very soon.”
Now we don’t know about you, but this screams a Ben Barnes album announcement to us. Seems we aren’t the only ones because fans expressed the same thoughts.
You may be asking just why we think a Ben Barnes album announcement is coming, so here’s why we’re thinking this is actually happening. As we said above, Ben can sing, and he constantly posts song covers and duets. He has also alluded to the possibility of his own album when he did an interview with Rotten Tomatoes during the promo for Shadow and Bone. Recently Ben posted an Instagram story sharing that he was scouting locations for a project and the location looked very much like a theatre fit for some music, and he was seen hanging out with a music producer by the name of rocom.
One final speculation we have is that he is preparing to make the announcement on his 40th birthday (Yes, we cannot believe Ben is turning 40 either, that man is like a fine wine) which is August 20th. Whether people want to admit it or not, turning 40 is an amazing milestone. We think announcing his music on his birthday is the best way to celebrate. He seemed to confirm this may be the case when he liked a comment on Instagram speculating on this exact thing.
