The Sun summoner has smiled down on us with some amazing news. Shadow and Bone, the popular series based on the bestselling books by Leigh Bardugo, has been renewed for season two.
The announcement was made during day one of Netflix’s Geeked Week and we must say it was a great way to start it off. We can also admit that we knew season two was coming, I mean, did you see those ratings? According to Netflix, when Shadow and Bone was released it was watched by more than 55 million member households in its first 28 days. The series also made the Top 10 list in 93 countries around the world and hit #1 in 79 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Germany, Russia, Spain, South Africa, and the U.S. The Grishaverse has a strong fandom that is not to be underestimated.

This cast is just so delightful aren’t they? and we love that they are just as excited about the renewal as we are. Like the first season of Shadow and Bone, eight one-hour episodes have been ordered and we hope they cover what we want to see. After the ending of season one we need to know where everyone will go from here. With the blending of both the Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows books, we have so many thoughts about what season two will bring.
Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), Ben Barnes (General Kirigan), Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik) and Calahan Skogman (Matthias Helvar), are set to reprise their roles in Season 2.
If you have read all of the books, then you know there are still more cast members coming. The one we are most excited for is the casting of Nikloai Lantsov. We really fell in love with him while reading the Shadow and Bone books so we need to love him in the show. We’re talking, we need to love him like we love the Crows, if not more.
