Dolly Parton is an icon. She’s this amazing human, who has done so much for the world around her, but never forgotten where she came from. We admire that, because so many people let money change them.
Dolly is just someone that we aim to be like.
Her music has inspired so many and a lot of people have covered her music. Dolly took to Instagram to post about Lil Nas X, who covered Parton’s iconic song, Jolene.
He covered the song on BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge series. Parton captioned the post, “I was so excited when someone told me that Lil Nas X had done my song ‘Jolene’. I had to find it and listen to it immediately…and it’s really, really good.”
“Of course, I love him anyway,” Dolly continued. “I was surprised and I’m honored and flattered. I hope he does good for both of us. Thank you @lilnasx 🦋”
Lil Nas X was excited, and quote tweeted Parton’s tweet, commenting, “HOLY SHIT.”
We’d tweet the same Lil Nas X. We would do the same and do it while curled in a ball crying that she knows our name.
