We’re going to be in our The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) era for the foreseeable future. We’re fine with that and we’re not worried about what anyone else may think about that.
We’ve been rewatching the Fortnight video on repeat, not even looking for easter eggs, but just because we love it. It’s one of those things where we’re entertained and also obsessed with the visuals.
In an interview with iHeart Radio, Taylor said that the song takes place in an, “American town where the American Dream you thought would happen to you didn’t. You ended up not with the person you loved and now you have to just live with that every day, wondering what would’ve been, maybe seeing them out. And that’s a pretty tragic concept, really. So I was just writing from that perspective.”
Post Malone collabs with Taylor on the song and stars in the music video.
Along with Post Malone, there are two people that we didn’t expect to be in the video, but we are obsessed with them being in it – Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles. The two starred in Dead Poets Society, one of the greatest movies of our time. The two took to social media to talk about their cameos.
Josh Charles took to Twitter and said, “I’ve admired Taylor for a long time, but meeting her in person took my fandom to a whole new level. Genuine, kind, approachable, and just an all around stellar human being – not to mention a kick ass director to boot! #TSTTPD @taylorswift13 @taylornation13“

Ethan Hawke took to Instagram and said, ““Todd” & “Knox” from DEAD POETS SOCIETY are now PhDs in THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. It’s quite an honor.”
He continued, “Thank you @taylorswift for the opportunity to be in the music video for your song FORTNIGHT feat. @postmalone.”
And then Hawke finished off with, “carpe diem!”
What do you think of the music video? Do you love it? Hate it? Tell us all the things.
