When watching a television show, I follow the rule of not drawing judgement on ships until at least the third episode. However when I started watching FBI: International, the ship chose me and I refused to admit it. Instead, from the first episode, I was like I can’t stand Kellett and Forrester together. But after this weeks episode, I have realized one thing – it’s more painful to see them apart.
Kellett may not be my favorite at times, but I do realize that her actions are driven by the parts of her that we don’t know.
Remember the case in Prague? The one where she stayed behind to dump the gun? Well, an agent is there to ask her about being there, and is a real dick. He’s out of line and brings up Jamie’s sister committing suicide. For Jamie that was too much and she asks him to leave before things get more uncomfortable for the both of them.

Scott is of course wanting to make sure she’s okay. Forrester loves her and it’s obvious. It’s also a little scary, because the reality is that can cause big issues for all of them. He asks if there is anything she needs to tell him, but of course she’s like no.
The team gets a call, they need to head to Northern Ireland. See, there was a police shooting and the suspect that was detained says that he will only talk to Kellett.
One thing that I can say for Jamie is that no matter what, she’s really great at forging relationships. She knows how important they are. So when she finds out who is detained, she says that this is a contact that you go out on a limb for.
Somehow, Kellett willing to stand up for him, scares me more than anything. Not because I think that she has bad judgement, but more because I think that her judgement is impaired. The thing is Forrester trusts her judgement. He has been blinded by his feelings.
When the team arrives in Belfast, the Chief is ready to take them to Liam. However, the partner of the cop that was shot is pissed that they are there. Inspector Sean Henry is livid that the FBI is there. He’s insisting that they basically are scum for trying to help a cop killer go free.
There is something that doesn’t sit right with how Henry is. There is something that isn’t right with how Liam is.
Liam says that he was taking a friend home, because he was drunk. They were stopped by the cops and a shootout ensued. In order to try and secure his freedom he tells them that his friend was involved in a big gun smuggling ring. These guns were stolen from a military base in the US.
Jamie is determined to – in my opinion – show that Liam can be trusted. She doesn’t want to be wrong, it seems, but I think it’s deeper than that. She needs to pull out a win for herself, because things are crashing around her. Forrester looks less able to believe in him, but Kellett says that right now she just needs him to believe in her.

When they get to where the guns are, the place is on fire and someone opens fire on them. This doesn’t sit well for Liam. But also who gave them up? What happened here? I think that there is definitely something a miss. But Liam has excuses, saying that their phones have been tapped. Forrester had texted one person about the raid.
Kellett isn’t having his shit and either is Forrester. They’re both like we’re the last person between you and the wrath of the Irish is us.
So Liam agrees to tell them more. I mean, I can understand that he’s holding back because like who wants to play all of their hand? He convinces them to go to a pub and their plan is to wire Liam so that they can get more intel.
But Kellett wants to visit Liam’s wife, so her and Forrester set out to visit. His wife is obviously hiding something and they are getting ready to run. The two determine that they are all going to meet up and that Liam is trying to milk the IRA for money.
Kellett and Liam go to the pub and she gets caught snooping. Liam saves her, but suspicions are raised. It was too easy for them to get out.
Forrester will do anything that he can for Kellett. He’s able, with Gaines help, to prove that Henry is involved, and that Liam is the head of the IRA and not just a person involved. So as Liam keeps dangling carrots in front of Kellett, she’s got plans of her own.
As she puts her own plan in play, I have to admit, that I love Kellett more and more. We don’t know her well enough to make a lot of judgements, but I do believe that she’s so into her job, because she’s hiding something. What that is? I don’t know.
When she convinces the Irish police to let her take Liam to the potential place where the guns have been moved, they are reluctant (but it’s because the FBI has a plan in place). Kellett starts asking questions and as they get closer, she starts unloading what she knows and forces his hand.
She knows he was taking her out there to kill her. She knows he’s the head of the IRA and forces his hand by bringing his family out and putting them in the car. Who is he going to choose? The IRA or his wife and child? She has him where she wants him.
Liam gets himself arrested and I have to say I am glad. Because he was fucking with Kellett and we don’t do that bro.

Kellett has enough on her mind. When the team gets back to Budapest, Kellett has to be interviewed again and Forrester walks in on her interview. The agent has a grainy picture of what looks like Kellett and threatens her. But Forrester isn’t having it. He lies and says that it couldn’t be Jamie because she was with him.
Of course interview dude has questions, but Forrester is willing to go toe to toe with him. He’s dealing with the woman he loves. And yes, he loves her. You can see it in his eyes.
Here’s the thing about Kellett and Forrester. Everything with them is complicated. We all know that. They work together in dangerous situations and compromising their emotions can lead to a lot of shit that can endanger people. But he loves her. And I do believe that she loves him but she’s so afraid of feeling and being left that she doesn’t know how to deal with it.
And in my opinion, that’s why she reacts the way that she does when Forrester stands up for her – because she’s afraid of loosing him. So people like her will push someone away first, hurt themselves before hurting someone else.
But I screamed at the television when she said they needed space. It’s the last thing that she needs. She’s afraid of bringing him down and hurting his career. But most of all I think that she’s afraid of feeling.
Kellett has a lot of things in life that she needs to face. I hope she does it sooner than later. Because she needs Forrester. She loves Forrester. And well, selfishly I need my ship.
Jamie is trying to fix something that isn’t broken, but the one thing that is broken she refuses to work on. And that’s scary.
